Shelby Sanchez

Field Support & Operations

Meet Shelby. Shelby grew up with a grandfather who was a Michigan state police officer. He not only influenced her love for German Shepherds, but also taught her to always stick up for the voiceless & to always show compassion.

From her very first gesture of kindness—bringing tacos to warm us up on our second trip to Michigan—Shelby won us over instantly. Living near the area of the Brittany Shank missing person case featured in Season 3, Shelby's commitment shone brightly as she assisted in search operations. Venturing high and low into deep brush, she sacrificed her time and energy to help any way she could, exemplifying her unwavering support and dedication to the mission of Hide & Seek.

Beyond her invaluable contributions to the podcast, Shelby harbors a profound passion for dogs. Her dream is to merge this love with her professional expertise, aspiring to venture into the dog boarding business and the specialized field of training Cadaver & Protection canines. Shelby's unique bond with dogs and her keen interest in their potential to assist in crime solving highlight a special aspect of her contributions to our true crime endeavors.

Shelby's multifaceted role, coupled with her aspirations in the dog and true crime worlds, makes her an irreplaceable part of our team. Her actions, from the thoughtful to the monumental, demonstrate a commitment to making a difference—be it through the stories we share, the searches we undertake, or the silent heroes she aims to train for the future of crime detection.

The Bridge

Shelby reached out during Season 3 after taking part in a local search for Brittany Wallace Shank. She had info to share, and she kept showing up—willing to do more. When I needed someone I could trust on the ground in Michigan, Shelby became that person.

She helped verify details I couldn’t from Washington, supported us remotely, and then started feeding us every time we came back to Michigan. (Ask anyone—her family’s food is a trip highlight.) She’s now involved in live event support and is actively training a cadaver dog to join us in future investigations. It all started because she cared. Now, she’s someone I trust.
