Brittany Wallace-Shank, a 23-year-old woman, disappeared from Sturgis, Michigan, on November 30, 2018. She was last seen leaving her grandmother's home, but the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear. Her vehicle was found abandoned, leading to concerns about her safety. Brittany went to the home of an elderly man for help, and spoke with a 911 dispatcher, but while the homeowner was still on the phone, Brittany left. She showed up at another home minutes later, where a teenager was inside alone. The teen heard a knock on the front door, while he had eyes on Brittany walking around his house from the back deck. The teen hid out of fear, but locked eyes with Brittany while she was starring in a window. This sighting was the last time anyone would ever see Brittany again.

James and Sara Jo became involved in Brittany’s case, dedicating two years and 52 episodes to explore her disappearance. Through interviews with family members, friends, suspects and others close to Brittany, Hide and Seek  aimed to generate new leads and keep public attention on the case. James and Sara Jo also explored various theories, including the possibility of foul play, and highlighted inconsistencies in the details surrounding her disappearance.
