THE HARDEST CASE
Nancy Moyer, a 36-year-old mother of two, disappeared from her home in Tenino, Washington, on March 6, 2009. Her disappearance remains unsolved, though the case has seen periodic developments over the years. Moyer's car was found parked outside her home with her purse and belongings inside, but there was no sign of forced entry or a struggle. Her two daughters were staying with their father that weekend, so the exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance are unclear.
James Baysinger, host of the Hide and Seek podcast played a significant role in reviving public interest in the case through his podcast. which focuses on missing persons cases. James started investigating Moyer’s case in 2018, conducting interviews and uncovering new details. His work drew attention to the case and led to a break in 2019, when a man named Eric Lee Roberts confessed to killing Moyer during a sexual encounter that went wrong. However, Roberts later recanted his confession, and no charges were filed due to a lack of physical evidence. James continues to be passionate about Nancy’s case, and revisits it in season 4 which premiered October 31, 2024.
