Alex Yukich

(aka The House They Haunt Is You)

Composer

Alex is an atmospheric composer and producer whose work merges haunting soundscapes with fever-dream electronic textures. His project—described as “end‑of‑the‑world // fever dream” in tone—blends experimental influences akin to Shlohmo and The Haxan Cloak. With a background in audio production, Alex studied at the University of Arizona and is the creative force behind Sasquatch Productions. Under the moniker The House They Haunt Is You, he’s built a signature style showcased on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, where fans describe his sound as immersive, eerie, and cinematic.

In Season 4, Alex is the dedicated Music Designer—crafting the series’ sonic identity with layered textures that elevate tension, suspense, and emotional beats. Drawing listeners into each narrative, his score acts as a character in its own right, haunting the journey long after the credits roll.

The Pulse

Alex was a listener from California who DM’d me asking if I needed music. What started as a message turned into a collaboration, and then into a friendship.

He joined me in the field for Trips 1 and 2 during Shane Barton’s case. Boots on the ground. Real interviews. Heavy conversations. And Alex handled it all, even if he was a little out of his element. (He learned quick that our crew doesn’t roll quiet.)

Funny story: No matter where we went, gas station, Walmart, hole-in-the-wall—Alex would disappear into a random aisle like he was on a side quest. We’d be packed up and someone would say, “Where’s Alex?” Also, nobody, and I mean nobody—sleeps in a hotter hotel room than this guy. It’s basically a sauna.

Alex brings mood, tone, and emotion to the show through sound—and it all started because he cared enough to reach out.
